In the past few years cybercrime has increased dramatically, but so has money charged by cyber security firms to their clients. Recently the cyber security industry has skyrocketed, now taking in 120 billion dollars annually.

Despite the hemorraging costs paid out to security firms, the security firms themselves project that cyber crime will continue to climb to staggering levels. Most estimates are that the costs globally by 2019 will be over 3 TRILLION dollars. Some firms project that by 2021 that the losses from cyber crime will be between three to as much as six trillion dollars annually.
